What is Spirometry Testing?

Spirometry testing is a quick, effective lung function test that measures how well a person can inhale and exhale air. Also known as pulmonary function testing, this assessment evaluates lung performance and is essential for workers exposed to dust, chemicals, fumes, or airborne contaminants.

FitTick’s spirometry testing is designed to support workplace safety and OH&S compliance, helping businesses identify potential respiratory risks early, track lung health over time, and ensure PPE is performing as required.

Why is Spirometry Testing Important?

Proactive Risk Management

Regular spirometry testing helps detect early changes in lung function, supporting early intervention and reducing long-term health risks.

Workplace Health & Safety

Industries such as mining, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals often expose workers to airborne hazards. Spirometry testing helps ensure your workforce’s respiratory health is not compromised.

Compliance with OH&S Regulations

Spirometry testing is recommended under relevant Australian Work Health and Safety Regulations to monitor workers exposed to hazardous substances and maintain compliance.

Spirometry Testing Procedure

FitTick’s spirometry testing takes approximately 15 minutes per participant and follows a consistent, reliable process using state-of-the-art equipment.

Flexible Spirometry Testing Options Australia-Wide

In-house

We offer In-house testing at our office in Adelaide, South Australia.

Mobile Testing Booth

Please provide a suitable parking area for our mobile testing booth. While the testing environment is controlled, high dust levels such as from nearby manufacturing plants can impact test accuracy.

Mobile Pop-Up

Onsite

For onsite testing, we require a lockable room or office (approx. 20sqm) in a quiet, clean area with at least two power points, a table, and two chairs. Avoid offices near dust or airborne contaminants, as they can affect test results.

Offsite

We’ll set up a testing facility close to your worksite or in a convenient location for your workforce (e.g. CBD). Please ensure employees are informed that the test will be conducted offsite.
